The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are having to overcome more adversity than just preparing for the regular season.
After Carl Nicks and Lawrence Tynes both came down with serious staff infections, the team had their One Buc Place facility sanitized of all bacteria.
Tynes’ case actually required surgery earlier this week which held him out of their third preseason game in Miami. Nicks did not play during the team’s second game versus New England, but the team is saying that had nothing to do with the MRSA infection. Unfortunately, Nicks does have the infection in his foot, the area he is already recovering from.
Bucs GM Mark Dominik spoke to ESPN and told them he wanted to take care of this issue all at once.
We had a company come in and nuke the building a week ago after the cultures taken from Nicks and Tynes confirmed it was MRSA. It was a precautionary move, but we didn’t want to fool with it. Our owners said spare no expense. We had the facility treated, and the...

The third preseason game is often the one that teams use to play their starters the most. Such was the game plan for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they took the field Saturday night in Maimi.
With a mindset like that, fans most likely had one thing — or player — on their mind: Josh Freeman. Freeman looked shaky in the team’s first two preseason games...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Anthony Gaitor and running back Michael Smith will miss the NFL season after being placed on injured reserve.
The Bucs also announced Monday that receivers Carlton Mitchell and Derek Hagan, defensive ends Ernest Owusu and Markus White, quarterback Adam Weber, fullback Spencer Larsen and safety Troy Nolan were waived. The team signed tight end Mike...

Jonathan Casillas currently plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. He played high school football at New Brunswick High School and college football at Wisconsin. In Super Bowl XLIV, he was officially credited with recovering a third-quarter onside kick for the Saints en route to their 31-17 victory over the Indianapolis Casillas was e...
There was some good, some bad, and let the crawl to Week 1 continue.
After a disappointing showing by the first-team units in New England last week and a bizarre MRSA scare at One Buc Place revealed Thursday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers returned for their "dress rehearsal" preseason game Saturday against the Miami Dolphins. The Bucs' best moment might have been one of...
Adrian Peterson and Arian Foster have topped the fantasy RB rankings for years. The torch will be passed this season. Last year AP defied odds and broke 2,000yds coming off a torn ACL. Is this the year he finally slows down? FXP thinks so. Foster has been injury plagued the last few years and it looks like all those carries are finally catching up to here.
Here are the...
Tampa Bay cornerback Darrelle Revis will make his Buccaneers' debut against his former team.
A source told FOX Sports on Saturday that Revis will not play in the preseason as he continues recovering from 2012 knee surgery. He is slated to return in the Sept. 8 regular-season opener against the New York Jets, who traded Revis to the Buccaneers during the offseason.
If anything, this was a game that showed the two best teams in the state of Florida can battle it out for four quarters and the last team to score wins.Sounds more like something out of sandlot football, doesn’t it?It wasn’t pretty and it did nothing to make statements on position battles but in the end, Tampa Bay came away with a 17-16 win on the road. It gives them some momentum...
The Tampa Bay Bucs already have two players out with staph infections, left guard Carl Nicks and kick Lawrence Tynes, so the team had its facilities sanitized last weekend while the team was on the road trip against the Patriots. The facilities will be sanitized again this weekend while the team is on the road in Miami.
Rumors were rampant the last couple days on potential staph...
