Greg Schiano has a plan. Whether or not it will work remains to be seen, but make no mistake about it -- he's has a plan.
The only thing straighter than the crease in Schiano's khakis could be that marine-like jaw.
That, or his approach towards people. Not just players or coaches, but people in general.Â
I recently had the pleasure of meeting coach Schiano, face to face, at day three of training camp.
The minute you shake hands with him, and look him in the eye, you believe him. It's as simple as that. Some people just exude confidence; it just radiates around them. Greg Schiano is one of those people.
What makes Schiano tick?
This guy's tougher than woodpecker lips. Within days he "took out the trash" by trading Kellen Winslow to Seattle for a stale bag of chips, or a seventh-round draft pick. Cut starters Tanard Jackson and Dezmon Briscoe, and traded away second-round pick Brian Price.
Make no mistake, Schiano's pulling the strings on perso...

According to Stephen Holder the Tampa Bay Times, Buccaneers rookie running back Doug Martin is looking like the primary back right now, even though nothing has been made official.
âNo one is making any public declarations about the Bucsâ running back situation, and the team wonât release a depth chart for at least another week.
âBut it doesnât take an expert...
TAMPA, Fla. Gray skies and a refreshing summer shower greeted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they walked off the practice field Wednesday morning following another grueling training camp workout.
It was a welcome relief from the stifling heat and humidity. And it had to feel especially good to cornerback Aqib Talib considering the heat of a different sort hed faced for more than...
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded back into the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft in order to select Boise State RB Doug Martin. That move sent a strong message to the incumbent tailback, LeGarrette Blount. But in training camp thus far, Martin is sending an even stronger message to Blount and the rest of the team.
That message is simple.
Martin is ready to start the 2012 regular seasonâ...
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are heading into the 2012 season with a complete overhaul of the coaching staff with much of the roster changed as well. Veteran CB Aqib Talib is looking forward to the new environment surrounding the new team and is currently being mentored by Buccaneers great, Derrick Brooks.
Talib was facing a possible prison sentence this offseason while facing felony...
It looks like we were correct in our analysis of Doug Martin.  Early into camp Martin is impressing the coaching staff and players. "He made some explosive runs (Sunday) where you really see why they drafted him so high," guard Davin Joseph said. "He reminds you of a Ray Rice or Maurice Jones-Drew. He's very crafty and he really understands the run game."...
I was chief among the Raheem Morris supporters since he was promoted to Head Coach in 2009. I had followed Morris' carreer since rejoining the Bucs in 2007 after the defense fell apart during the departure of himself and a few other key coaches following the 2005 division championship team, a Bucs squad that had more potential to do damage in the playoffs than anyone has ever...
TAMPA -- Josh Freeman still is growing as a quarterback. But everywhere else, he believes less will be more. The 6-6 Freeman lost 20 pounds during the offseason, going from 257 to 237 pounds. Although he wasn't asked to shed weight by the organization, he says it has helped his endurance and flexibility while not limiting his strength. One year after throwing 25 touchdowns...

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Sunday that they have signed linebacker Nate Triplett.
Originally selected as a fifth-round pick (167th overall) by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2010 NFL Draft, the University of Minnesota graduate spent time on the practice squad of the San Diego Chargers, as well as the Indianapolis Coltsâ active roster last year.
Last season there were a significant amount of fantasy football players who simply did not perform quite the way we all thought they were going to.
We can attribute this to perhaps a shortened off-season thanks to the CBA debacle or just the player being in a crappy situation that nobody saw coming, but either way, a certain percentage of these players are certainly due for a...

Comments on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (26)
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 21): Another potential bounce-back team. Bucs were much better than they played year ago, and added more talent than any other team in offseason.
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 22): From 4-12 to 8-8 in one season under Schiano...
