Veterans reported today to One Buccaneer Place in Tampa, and the team spent little time adjusting the club’s roster. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that they have traded DT Brian Price to the Chicago Bears and outright released WR Dezmon Briscoe. Tampa Bay also announced that they have signed LB Thomas Williams to a two-year contract. Price was selected by the Buccaneers in the second-round of the 2010 NFL Draft and had a rocky road at the next level after dealing with several injury issues. Price has only appeared in 20 games for the Buccaneers during the last two seasons. The free agent acquisition of DT Amobi Okoye made Price expendable. The Buccaneers have issued a release which states Price was traded for an undisclosed draft choice and the trade is pending a physical. WR Dezmon Briscoe was released outright. Briscoe joined the Buccaneers under then-head coach Raheem Morris, who snatched the receiver off the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad. The Buccaneers offered Briscoe ...

Trading Price one of a slew of Bucs moves

The tumultuous tenure of Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Brian Price came to an abrupt end Thursday. Buccaneers trade Price to Bears

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have traded defensive tackle Brian Price to the Chicago Bears for a draft pick next year. Price was a second-round pick (35th overall) out of UCLA by Tampa Bay in 2010. The 6-1, 303-pound Price has started 14 games over two seasons, with 27 tackles (23 solo) and three sacks. The deal was announced Thursday, and details of the 2013 draft pick were not disclosed...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers trade DT Brian Price to Chicago Bears

Trade for Buccaneers: Brian Price was a 2nd round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, but I still love this trade for them. Price played horribly last season, ranking 83rd at his position out of 89 on ProFootballFocus. The Buccaneers have adequate depth with Amobi Akoye and Gary Gibson, two underrated players, so he won’t really be missed much. He was also having discipline problems. He’s...

Depth Added: Bears Land Defensive Tackle Price From Tampa Bay

The Bears reportedly acquired defensive tackle Brian Price today from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 2013 seventh-round draft pick. The trade is pending a physical of course. Price was a second-round pick out of UCLA in 2010. He appeared in 20 games, making 14 starts in two seasons with the Buccaneers. He made 24 tackles and three sacks last season as a starter at defensive tackle...

Chicago Bears Film Evaluation: DT Brian Price

The Bears had to address a need along the interior of the defensive line with the departure of Anthony Adams and Amobi Okoye.  The loss of Okoye was especially tough given how he emerged in his one season in Chicago. So the hole left needed to be filled, and the ramshackle of five players competing for the fourth DT spot wasn't very promising.  GM Phil Emery heard our concerns...

Bears Acquire DT Brian Price From Buccaneers For 2013 Draft Pick

The Buccaneers traded DT Brian Price to the Bears for an undisclosed 2013 draft pick, pending a physical, the teams announced Thursday. Price, a second-round pick in 2010, played in only five games as a rookie. He was placed on injured reserve that year with a pelvic fracture. Last season, Price played in 15 games with 14 starts and had 24 tackles and three sacks. In Week 13, Price...

Buccaneers Couldn't Get Mid-Round Pick For DT Brian Price So He Was Dumped

A little more than two years after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers invested the 35th overall pick of the 2010 draft on UCLA defensive tackle Brian Price, he is gone. The Bucs dumped Price on Thursday, trading him to the Chicago Bears for a seventh-round draft pick in 2013. It was real simple, new coach Greg Schiano didn’t want Price around and the Bucs didn’t want to risk an injury for...

Redskins Claim Ex-Buccaneers WR Dezmon Briscoe Off Waivers

The Washington Redskins claimed wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe off waivers, a person with knowledge of the move said. Briscoe had been waived by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He led the Buccaneers with six touchdown catches last season but, according to reports, missed some of the team’s voluntary offseason workouts and failed the club’s conditioning test before training camp. According...

The newest Washington Redskin is eager for a fresh start after his promising career in Tampa Bay became enmeshed with his messy personal life. Wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe led the Buccaneers with six touchdowns in 2011 while catching 35 passes but skipped a voluntary minicamp in April as his current and former girlfriends engaged in a series of accusations on Twitter. Briscoe was...
