This move should come as no shock to avid NFL fans, since Haynesworth was brought on to the Tampa Bay roster as a stop gap measure to fix issues on the interior of the Buccaneers defensive line. Haynesworth joined the Buccaneers roster as injuries took their tool on defensive tackles for the club this season and with a looming $7 million salary for the 2012 season, the club decided to jettison the controversial defensive tackle. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the only team to place a waiver claim for the defensive tackle after his time with the New England Patriots was deemed to be done.
