Tampa Bay’s best defensive back for over ten years, Ronde Barber, has done an incredible job of staying productive into his mid-thirties. In order to continue his production, GM Mark Dominik stated Barber will likely play safety in 2012. At 37 years old, Barber’s tackling skills have dwindled, but his ability to intercept the ball has remained a constant. He has six interceptions since the start of the 2010 season. Barber actually began taking snaps at safety before the Draft took place in April, according to RotoWorld. The Buccaneers' GM just reemphasized in a radio interview this week the team’s goal to have Barber switch positions. The long-time corner could still see some time at cornerback in nickel package situations. Barber would cover the slot receiver while Buccaneer Cody Grimm would replace him at safety.
