If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers miss the playoffs by one game, all they will have to do is point a finger at Sunday’s contest against the Atlanta Falcons. The planets aligned on Sunday for the Buccaneers and with a win, Tampa could have moved into one of the two wildcard seed, instead they remain one game out.
Prior to kickoff, the Buccaneers learned that they would be without CB Eric Wright, who is suffering from a Achilles injury. That left E.J. Biggers and rookie Leonard Johnson to take care of business against Roddy White and Julio Jones. Buccaneers fans were already aware of the limitations surrounding the NFL’s worst pass defense and Matt Ryan had no problems carving them up like a Thanksgiving turkey.
Ryan started the afternoon completing ten straight passes and finished the afternoon connecting on nine of his ten. There was some room for improvement however by Ryan, after all, he had six incompletions on the afternoon. He completed 26 of 32 pass attempts for 353 yards and a scor...

When the Buccaneers picked former Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano to lead their team, they pulled some valuable college scouting with them as well.
The rookie class that general manager Mark Dominik, director of player personnel Dennis Hickey and Schiano put together has — so far — been among the best in the NFL. The Bucs came away with three starters with their first three picks...
Buccaneers’ cornerback Eric Wright has been suspended by the league for violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing drugs. New broke during Greg Schiano’s press conference Monday afternoon. Wright released this via a written statement: It was announced today by the NFL that I am being suspended for four games. This is a result of taking Adderall at the end of July...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Eric Wright was suspended four games by the NFL after testing positive for Adderall and not having the proper documentation for health uses. But due to a stipulation in Wright’s contract, the four game suspension...
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Tampa Bay's porous secondary took another hit Monday when cornerback Eric Wright was suspended by the NFL for four games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Wright is the second Tampa Bay starter disciplined for using Adderall. Cornerback Aqib Talib was suspended Oct. 13 for four games and subsequently traded to the...
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers allowed a great opportunity to move into the wildcard playoff race yesterday against the Atlanta Falcons to slip away. Despite not taking advantage of losses of the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, and Dallas Cowboys, the Buccaneers now are facing an uphill battle for the remainder of the season.CB Eric Wright was out of the lineup yesterday against...
Tampa Bay's resilience will be tested as the Buccaneers strive to rebound from the team's first loss in a month and remain in playoff contention.
Sunday's one-point loss to the Atlanta Falcons stopped a four-game winning streak, but was not nearly as costly as it could been for the Bucs. Three other clubs pursuing what would be the second NFC wild-card position also...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Eric Wright was suspended for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances for a second time this season. Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano announced the suspension on Monday. Wright's first suspension earlier this year was for taking Adderall, according to Fox Sports. Former Bucs cornerback Aqib Talib was also suspended for...
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers claimed WR/KR David Gilreath off of waivers on Tuesday afternoon after the Pittsburgh Steelers let go of the return specialist, per The Pewter Report.
The move figures to jeopardize punt returner Roscoe Parrish‘s job, considering Parrish is averaging 7.7 yards per return and the team likely wouldn’t keep two players this similar on their 53-man roster...
The 2012 Tampa Bay Buccaneers are piecing together a much longer impressive streak than last season. Remember when those silly pirates beat not only the Saints but the Falcons on their way to an impressive 4-2 record last year? If you said, "very vaguely," then congrats, you are in my boat. Problem was they never won a game after going 4-1 and weren't...
TAMPA, Fla. -- Matt Ryan threw for 353 yards and overcame two big turnovers by leading another late touchdown drive to give the Atlanta Falcons a 24-23 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
Ryan teamed with Julio Jones on an 80-yard TD in the third quarter, but the NFC South leaders found themselves trailing 23-17 after the Bucs marched for a touchdown, then forced a...

If week 11 in the NFL had one name assigned to it, it would be Houdini. The smoke and mirrors used by Houston, Dallas, Tampa Bay, and Atlanta to magically pull victories out of strait jackets is nothing short of miraculous. The top suicide picks all managed to inch out wins in dramatically late fashion: Matt Ryan throws five interceptions yet the Falcons fly passed the Cardinals...
The Falcons extended their NFL-best record to 10-1 with a win in Tampa Bay on Sunday. But while the standings may tell you Atlanta is the team to beat in the NFC, some glaring flaws could keep them from realizing their championship dreams.
Matt Ryan and the Falcons’ passing attack rebounded from the five-interception performance of a week ago, airing it out for 353 yards on the...
The Falcons (10-1) are one step closer to the playoffs and the NFC South title after winning yet another close game. This one was against the rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-5) on Sunday. The Falcons again struggled on offense running the ball in this match-up. Michael Turner yet again was held to under 20 yards on more than 10 carries. This makes three straight game for Turner...
Some Atlanta players seem uncertain about who gave the Falcons' their lone loss of the season.
Did the Saints beat Atlanta, or did the Falcons beat themselves in their 31-27 loss at New Orleans on Nov. 11?
Receiver Roddy White was dismissive of the Saints after the game when he said, ''It's not like they came out here and won a game.''
