In what appears to be a big day for former Cleveland Browns head coaches, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will reportedly interview Marty Schottenheimer to fill their vacant head coaching position. Most recently the head coach of the United Football League’s Virginia Destroyers, the 68-year-old Schottenheimer has not coached in the NFL since being relieved of his duties with the San Diego Chargers back in 2006. The defensive-minded coach had a spectacular run with the Browns in the mid-to-late 1980s, but – like his tenure in San Diego – it was one that never resulted in a Super Bowl appearance.  Overall, Schottenheimer is 5-13 in postseason appearances. The Buccaneers are coming off of a disappointing season wherein their head coach Raheem Morris was fired just one season after taking his team to the NFL playoffs.  Since being fired, Morris has allegedly been speaking with the Minnesota Vikings for a high-level position within their franchise.
