Games like this remind me why football is the greatest sport there is. The most bizarre, head-smackingly frustrating things can happen. Among other reasons, that is why the National Football League is so much fun. This game was not sold out, which meant that fans in the Tampa Bay television market could not watch it unless they had DirectTV.Personally, I think it is a fitting "punishment" for fair weather fans, the ones who stuff the stadium when the Buccaneers are playing well, and whose silence is deafening on days like today. Those fans who gave up on their team and stayed home because of how lousy Tampa Bay has been, did not watch as TAMPA BAY DEFEATED KANSAS CITY 38-10. FIVE THINGS WE ALL CAN LEARN FROM THIS GAME ARE:1. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Brady Quinn is NOT AN UPGRADE. I'm aware that Quinn started this game "by default", as Matt Cassel was knocked out (to the utter delight of Chiefs fans) of last week's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The reason Quinn is not the answer, even if Cassel is healthy and strong as an ox next week, is that Quinn is a "turnover machine", too.In the midst of a Red Zone scoring opportunity, Brady Quinn threw an interception, which for the record, was Kansas City's 20th turnover in just six games. This was also Quinn's first start in THREE SEASONS. Case closed.2. Never leave the room when "it's just a punt". Do you remember NFL Football Follies? A play from today's game would be in the top five  of those collections.Buccaneers Punter Michael Koenen's fourth quarter punt was blocked, sending the football sailing over his head and into his own end zone. Koenen gave chase and recovered the ball.  Then, summoning his inner Garo Yepremian, he "chucked" the ball forward down the field. It was intercepted by Chiefs defensive end Edgar Jones who dove, broke the plane, and scored.A block, recovery, pass, interception and touchdown. ALL IN THE SAME PLAY. 3. Buccaneers safety Ronde Barber is still as great as ever. Brady Quinn again throws a bad pass while closing in on the red zone. His pass goes "Doink!" off his receiver's leg and into the hands of the ageless Ronde Barber, who runs, trucks and dazzles his way 78 yards down the field, scoring a touchdown.4. Blowouts seem to take away the sting of missed field goals.Until you read this sentence, did you remember Buccaneers kicker Connor Barth's kick that "Doinked" off the right upright? That's what I thought.5. We all should keep an eye on Bucs running back Doug Martin. Watching this kid run today with fierce, raw, gutsy determination made an impression on me. At 5' 9" and weighing 223 pounds, he's built like a giant wrecking ball made out of solid muscle. This rookie runner from Boise State, could he be the next Mike Alstott?
