The Viking Age:
It's looking more-and-more like Brett Favre is going to wind up in Tampa. How the day's gone down: Favre talked about the big meeting last night, saying he and the Packers were at a "stalemate" and it was best for him to move on. Favre abruptly left Lambeau Field. PFT reported that the Bucs' GM Bruce Allen was absent from training camp (he is normally present). Reports starting trickling out that the Pack and Bucs were talking trade. Ted Thompson went to meet personally with Favre, apparently to gauge his feelings about playing for John Gruden and Tampa Bay. And that's where we are now…waiting for something concrete about these apparent negotiations between the ex Bay of Pigs rivals (eat your heart out Pete Axthelm). Favre to Tampa would mean Favre blinked and the Packers sort-of won. Of course the other big winners would be the Vikes, Bears and Lions because without Favre the Pack becomes a .500 team.
