MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) -- The defense had the upper hand in the Miami Dolphins scrimmage Saturday morning yet rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill still managed to impress.
The eighth overall pick in the 2012 draft directed the only touchdown drive on the six possessions that started at the offense's 30-yard line. The touchdown came on a 26-yard pass that showcased Tannehill's athleticism.
He rolled out of the pocket, scrambled right and as he approached the sideline floated a pass to tight end Anthony Fasano over linebacker Gary Guyton.
"It was really impressive," Fasano said. "It was a great touch pass on the run. I've said it all along and I think everyone has said it. He doesn't really play like a rookie quarterback. It's a great sign to see and he's only going to get better."
