According to Gregg Rosenthal over at PFT, Lofa Tatupu could return in "a few weeks" due to further tests revealing only a partially torn pectoral muscle. Jim Mora had said last night that Lofa would be lost for the season because of the muscle being fully torn. Lofa's presence is a huge boost for the defense, but backup David Hawthorne has shown that he's more than a serviceable backup when called upon. Still, Lofa's instincts and ability to read an offense are things that can't be replaced. This would be a huge sigh of relief if the muscle is indeed partially torn. This story just broke, so we'll follow up with more when it hits.
