H/T to Michael Appelbaum for the screen grab.
You knew this was inevitable. ESPN, in their never ending efforts to pump Tim Tebow's standing as an NFL quarterback, is actually asking a question no one else on this planet is asking. Could the Jaguars trade Maurice Jones-Drew for the quarterback they've always wanted but never cared enough to actually acquire?
I understand that Jones-Drew talk is all over the place right now, but that's a ludicrously low price for the Jaguars to receive in exchange for one of the best runners in the game today. I think this is a trade opportunity the Jaguars will pass on unless the Jets were willing to throw in a couple first round draft picks, and to my knowledge, the Jets aren't even interested.
BEST OF MAXIM
A report says many Jaguars players want Maurice Jones-Drew to be fined for missing several days of training camp. See why.
According to Eugene Frenette, Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew must report by this Saturday to have any chance at starting week one.
If MJD hopes to have any shot of starting the opener vs. Minnesota, and that might already be gone, he must report no later than Saturday

Recent rumblings suggest that Jacksonville Jaguars’ running back Maurice Jones-Drew is open to a trade. Will the Jaguars agree to deal their franchise runner who’s in the midst of a hold out? The likelihood of that isn’t great. Still, word that a top flight back could be available prior to the season should have perked Martin Mayhew’s ears up. A move for Jones-Drew would...
Today, Tim Tebow told Boomer Esiason that he believes last year’s performances validated him as an NFL quarterback (Credit: AP Photo)
Former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason is so skeptical of Tim Tebow’s ability to play quarterback that Esiason thinks the Jets should cut Tebow. But today, when Tebow joined Esiason for a radio interview, Tebow said he believes he has already...
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew told Marcas Grant of NFL.com that everything will be just fine with him and the Jags.
“I think things are going to work out … everything’s going to be good,” Jones-Drew said.
Of course everything is going to work out, because there’s no doubt in my mind that Jones-Drew won’t hold out into the regular season and will...
Say what you will about the wild, shirtless affair that has been the non-quarterback battle for the New York Jets.
The final authority has spoken, and unless Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow are going to be facing each other on an NFL field anytime, Madden 2013 will have the ruling on who the better quarterback is.
Sanchez has a better player rating and gets the starting spot for the...
While Cam Newton says he's a big Tim Tebow fan, he downplays the reunion on Sunday night with his former college teammate.
Newton says his focus this week isn't on old friendships but rather keeping the offense looking sharp when the Panthers (No. 20 in the AP Pro32) visit the New York Jets in what'll certainly be his last significant playing time of the preseason.
In his third season as head coach of the New York Jets, Rex Ryan saw his team take a step back, failing to reach the playoffs for the first time during his tenure. How did the Jets respond during the offseason? They added one of the most polarizing figures in the NFL today: Tim Tebow. Just having Tebow on the sidelines is reason enough for fans to show up on most Sundays, but New...
“Sanchez! Sanchez!” yelled the five-year old girl a few steps to my right. She wore a Mark Sanchez jersey and clutched a small poster, hoping for an autograph. “Sanchez! Come over here!” The New York Jets quarterback stood about 20 yards away talking with a trainer. He was well within earshot.“Sanchez!” she yelled. Her father and brothers stood around her, caps and yearbooks...
Every 2013 NFL Mock Draft I have seen has the Jaguars listed as being projected to have the number one draft pick. Last year it seemed the Washington Redskins led the way in 2012 mock drafts in terms of winning the ‘Suck for Luck’ sweepstakes, and didn’t draft Andrew Luck at all. This year, everyone is [...]
Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay loves Twitter. He is the king of social media in the NFL owners world. He frequents the Twitterverse, often challenging fans with trivia questions, quotes random song lyrics and giving team updates at all hours of the day. Yesterday, in typical fashion, Irsay used the 140-charatcer platform to let the world know that the Colts were interested in...
Let’s take a look at the AFC by starting things off with the AFC East Division, the home of the reigning AFC Champion New England Patriots.
