New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow will take a break from learning the team's playbook Sunday to address fellow Christians during a Father's Day event at San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium.
The deeply religious signal caller will make his first return to the Chargers' home field since November, when he helped lead the Broncos to a 16-13 overtime victory.
The free event, hosted by the Shadow Mountain Community Church, is expected to garner tens of thousands of spectators.
"Originally, this was planned for our campus, and we went from too many people and not enough seats, to plenty of seats and room for all the people who want to come," Shadow Mountain spokesman David St. John told the North County Times.
Tebow, who was traded from Denver in the offseason, has become as popular off the field for his outspoken religious beliefs as he is for his unorthodox methods of leading teams to victory.
"If there's anybody in our country today who illustrates what it means to live with passion and break the mold, and to rise above what everybody says are your limitations, it's Tim Tebow," St. John said.
The 24-year-old discussed his faith with approximately 15,000 fellow Christians in April at an outdoor Easter Sunday service in Texas.
He will share the pulpit in Qualcomm with Shadow Mountain Pastor David Jeremiah, with both expected to discuss "encouraging men to live, love and lead," St. John said.

Tim Tebow is a bigger player now than he was before. And, it's not just from being in the New York spotlight.
The New York Jets backup quarterback says Wednesday he weighs 249 pounds - about 7-to-9 pounds heavier than last season. He adds that the team would like him to be at 250 to start the season.

New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow is scheduled to preach this Sunday (Father’s Day) at San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium. He’ll be speaking alongside Shadow Mountain Community Church Pastor David Jeremiah.
“The last time he was at Qualcomm was the last time the Broncos beat the Chargers,” Shadow Mountain spokesman David St. John said this week, per the North...
It doesn’t really matter that Tim Tebow was traded to the New York Jets and sits behind Mark Sanchez on the depth chart. He’s going to play for this team in some capacity.
And that capacity is starting to become more and more clear.
Tebow has been gaining weight heading into the 2012 regular season. Normally, you wouldn’t want your backup quarterback to be that big of a guy...
Tim Tebow has been bulking up this offseason and the Jets would like him to continue to do so. They want him around 250 pounds. Tebow is reportedly pretty close to that weight now and, according to reports, is still in fantastic shape as all of the weight gained has been pure muscle. I wouldn’t expect anything less from someone with Tebow’s work ethic.
The Jets’ desire for...

The New York Jets held O.T.A’s yesterday, and low and behold, the miracle man that is Tim Tebow broke more hearts. The Jets backup QB was there smiling for the cameras, and did a solid by one fan — Tebow is such a great guy, it kind of makes me wanna puke. He may be a backup, but he’s definitely starting on the all good guy team.-TO

Wait. Is that…is that former New York Jets quarterback Drew Stanton? Nah, probably not. He’s probably wandering the streets of Indianapolis if anything. Regardless of this homeless man’s true identity, If his accusations are in fact true, well, that’s not very Christian of one Mr. Tim Tebow. Well, maybe I’m reaching when stating that Tebow [...]
The New York Jets are ready to use Tim Tebow in any way they can. During mini camp practice Tebow caught some passes out of the backfield.
Tebow ran with the ones on Wednesday but coach Rex Ryan let everyone know there is no quarterback controversy between Tebow and Mark Sanchez. He says you will see Tebow run with the ones because new offensive coordinator Tony Sparano wants...
The Incredible Bulk: As a kid you were always told focus on a person’s actions and not their words right?
Well if that is the case, Mark Sanchez is the defacto starting QB in New York as the Jets are asking Tim Tebow to add more muscle weight according t...

Tim Tebow was surrounded by a crowd, as usual, and a New York Jets fan approached him to take a picture holding what we are assuming is their son. The funny part about this picture? The kid is in a Mark Sanchez jersey. Tebow was a good sport and posed for the photo while in his red practice jersey. The quarterback controversy with the Jets has been talked about by the media a lot...

The New York Jets are a perfect example of how the offseason’s main story lines can have little impact on the fantasy relevance of a team. If you haven’t heard, the Jets acquired Tim Tebow from the Denver Broncos, kicking off a entirely over-dramatic quarterback controversy which most likely doesn’t exist.
In this preview, I’ll assume that Mark Sanchez is the starter with...
