Tim Tebow isn't letting the fallout of his disappointing 2012 season with the New York Jets keep him from working towards recapturing his NFL career. After a season which the maligned quarterback completed only six passes, cracked his ribs and was passed up by Greg McElroy for the starting job — Tebow has been spotted working out at an Arizona community college without the fanfare that surrounded him only six months ago. Tebow, the most famous backup quarterback in the NFL, knows his days with the Jets — and possibly the NFL — are numbered but told The New York Daily News he still is using this time of the year to work out and stay out of the spotlight. "We're a long way from New Jersey," the reclusive Tebow said while working out at Paradise Valley Community College. While big changes are happening on the Jets home front, Tebow has been training under British track coach Dan Pfaff along side some British Olympians — 2,440 miles away from the chaos of MetLife Stadium. Tebow, who was referred to Pfaff by a friend, surprised the coach with his natural athletic abilities. "He was already quick and powerful,  but he's got quicker because he's technically learning how to run better," said Greg Rutherford, who holds an Olympic gold medal in the long jump. "He knows how to learn; he knows how to work," added Rutherford's co-Olympian Andrew Steele. Barely anything on the college field that Tebow has been doing is football-related.  He's been performing standing jumps over hurdles, explosive dashes down the track and launched weighted balls into a discus net. Put it in slow motion with a techno soundtrack and you have "Chariots of Fire," only on an Arizona desert. Tebow — who couldn't take his shirt off last season without causing a commotion — is just another bloke to the two Brits and it's not surprising that he doesn't talk a whole lot about the Jets with them. "Weirdly, we haven't actually spoken that much about playing," said Rutherford, who gave Tebow his first cup of coffee ever. "For us, we don't talk about track when [we're not on the track]." Tebow is facing an uncertain NFL future.  His hopes of landing with his hometown Jacksonville Jaguars fell through after new GM Dave Caldwell put the kibosh on that scenario and another year with Gang Green would probably be too much for the prideful Tebow to endure.  Did someone say tight end or fullback? Anyway, there's always the Olympic decathlon down in Rio it sounds like he's ready for.

ESPN hosts caught talking Tebow's future?

In the video above, you get a fine look at that awkward moment when ESPN analysts talk candidly about a player while on the air. The only catch was, as you saw, Hannah Storm and Mark Schlereth didn't realize they were on live. While it's not that big of a deal, it is interesting to hear Schlereth's insight into the potential for Tim Tebow to switch from being a quarterback...

Video: ESPN employees caught dissing Tebow

We all know that ESPN was all-Tebow, all the time, this past season. It began as soon as Denver traded the quarterback to the New York Jets. But while Tim Tebow was the directive from the ESPN producers, most ESPN talking heads stayed clear of ripping his play, unless that one person was Merril Hoge. It seems Tebow has become so ingrained in the employees at the company, they even...

Mark Schlereth and Hannah Storm doubt Tim Tebow’s future in ESPN gaffe (VIDEO)

I’m not sure if you have noticed ESPN’s insatiable crush on New York Jets special teams contributor Tim Tebow.  They have turned back the heat and stopped reporting when he sneezes and farts, but if he hocks a big enough loogie, they’ll break into regularly-scheduled programming.  During their Super Bowl over-analyzation Tuesday, the ESPN couldn’t help themselves from talkin’...

Former Jets GM talks Tebow trade

Former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum, who was fired after the season, said the team's trade for Tim Tebow "didn't go as we had planned."

Jets kicking the tires on JaMarcus Russell?

You can't make this stuff up. The circus in the Big Apple keeps growing as it seems the New York Jets will never learn their lesson. The Tim Tebow experiment failed miserably, and while the Jets brain trust ponders what to do with the badly regressed Mark Sanchez, we get this quote from Conor Orr of The Star-Ledger: " More recently, after Tannenbaum was let go, members...

Former Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum takes fall for Tim Tebow trade

From the time it became obvious that Tim Tebow was not going to be a fit with the New York Jets, the media and fans have been looking for someone to blame. It seems fairly obvious that trading for Tebow wasn’t Rex Ryan’s idea, otherwise you would assume he would have given him a shot at some point during the course of the season. Last week, a report indicated the trade was ...

Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis Says He Doesn't Want Tim Tebow In Jacksonville

Rumors are circulating that current New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow may be on the trading block. When he left Denver last season, Tebow had a choice between Jacksonville and New York, choosing the latter. On Saturday, Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis told TMZ.com he was not interested in playing with Tebow. When asked by a TMZ "photog" Saturday night, Lewis was direct...

Former Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum admits he was behind Tim Tebow trade

Former New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum admitted on 660 WFAN that he was behind the Tim Tebow trade.  He was also honest with himself and said the trade didn’t work out. “It was my decision,” Tannenbaum said. ”Rex and I talked about it, and then we brought (former offensive coordinator) Tony Sparano into the mix. Obviously, Tony is a guy who has taken that...

Former Jets GM: Tim Tebow Trade Was a Bust

The mess in New York for the Jets is in the midst of finally getting cleaned up, and the guy most responsible (or the guy who took the fall for everything going bad in New York) is finally speaking. Former general manager Mike Tannenbaum was fired and blamed for the Jets’ failures. Tannenbaum said that blame was warranted and in a classy move,  took the blame for the failed...

Jets seek to continue comedy of errors at QB

After last offseason’s high profile acquisition of Tim Tebow failed to generate any spark in the offense (and tended to indicate that the decision makers in the organization had no idea what they were doing), the New York Jets once again find themselves looking for answers at the QB position in unlikely places.  Given that their salary cap situation is dire enough to consider...

Former Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum Says Tebow Trade Was A Bust

The Jets mess is in the midst of finally getting cleaned up, and the guy most responsible or the guy who took the fall for everything going bad in New York is finally speaking. Mike Tannenbaum was fired, blamed for the Jets failures, and as he told ESPN New York, that blame was warranted.  Tannenbaum in a classy move took the blame for the failed Tebow experiment. “I’m disappointed...

Junior and Tebow...Poker Pals?

Proving you never know who you're going to see hanging out with who...keen-eyed Arizona Diamondbacks starter Daniel Hudson treated his nearly 19,000 followers with a bit of randomness Wednesday night. While it's unclear if they did any Super Bowl 47 betting or not, the duo did, obviously, chat it up while playing a little poker. And if you couldn't figure it out from Hudson...

Tannenbaum: I was responsible for Tebow trade, Sanchez contract

Mike Tannenbaum spoke to reporters for the first time Tuesday since being fired by the New York Jets on New Year's Eve. The former Jets general manager — who was piloting the Jets front office while the team fell into disarray — broke his silence to discuss his perceived failures on Super Bowl Radio Row in New Orleans yesterday. Tannenbaum didn't shy away from his two...

Ex-Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum Takes Responsibility For Tebow Trade

Mike Tannenbaum said Tuesday that it was his idea to bring Tim Tebow to the New York Jets last year. Tannenbaum, who was fired as the Jets' general manager earlier this month, told ESPNNewYork.com that he had no regrets about trading two draft picks to the Denver Broncos for a quarterback who was seldom used in 2012. "It's just a trade that didn't work out...
