Everyone knows that football is a cutthroat sport. The bone rattling tackles, crackbacks and lay-outs shorten careers and life spans. It’s undeniable. It is a tough mans game. It’s also a tough man’s business. The prestige, compensation and feeling of accomplishment is something that thousands of individuals strive for. Unfortunately each team can only carry 53, making NFL executives jobs very hard. Packers GM Ted Thompson says that gets physically sick.
“Often times, most of the time, I get physically sick, like I get this huge cold or something,” Thompson told Mike Vandermause of the Green Bay Gannett, via USA Today’s ‘For The Win’ through helmet2helmet.com
Theres no denying it is a tough man’s sport but there is nothing enjoyable about cutting a young man’s dream short. There is certainly a human element that must be considered when cuts are made.

Kicker Mason Crosby
If Mason Crosby begins the regular season as the Green Bay Packers' kicker, he can probably look back at Tuesday's practice as what won him the job. Crosby was a perfect 14-for-14, making seven kicks into the wind and seven kicks with the wind at his...

Mason Crosby has a new contract and a renewed sense of optimism after a big week and productive night against the Chiefs.
When the Green Bay Packers invade Arrowhead Stadium Thursday night to face the Kansas City Chiefs, I wouldn’t expect much from the starters. But for those roster fringe players from the previous regimes, they might want to take this game very seriously.
The New York Jets quarterback controversy took another turn as the team signed Graham Harrell. Harrell was released by the Packers after losing out on the backup job behind Aaron Rodgers. He was 23 for 42 with 169 yards and an interception in three preseason games for Green Bay.
With Mark Sanchez’s health in question and uncertainty around Geno Smith, the addition of Harrell makes...
