1. “Tired arm” isn’t the only thing ailing Eli Manning. On Friday NFL Films’ Greg Cosell said that Eli Manning’s struggles the past few weeks were due to the quarterback having a “tired arm.” And after Manning completed 29-of-46 passes for just 215 yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions in New York’s 31-13 loss to the Bengals, it’s hard to argue with Cosell’s evaluation. Sunday marked Manning’s third straight brutal performance and it’s apparent that he’s lost some zip on his passes. But his problems go beyond declining arm strength, as he’s simply making poor decisions. In his last five starts, Manning has a 2:6 touchdown-to-interception ratio and has averaged just 212.4 yards per game over that span. Granted, his offensive line hasn’t helped him, as Geno Atkins was in his face on both of the interceptions he threw versus Cincinnati. But his play over the past three weeks has been highly concerning and neither he nor the Giants are close to ironing out the problem. Mak

Giants trying to figure out why Manning is slumping

After starting out on fire by throwing 12 touchdowns to just seven interceptions in the first seven games of the season, quarterback Eli Manning has found himself in a major slump -- perhaps the worst one of his career since his rookie season -- that is now three weeks old. Over the last three games, Manning has not only failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time in his...

Broncos, Peyton Manning eat Domino’s after today’s win

After today’s win over the Panthers, Denver Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme tweeted a photo of a Dominos pizza box. In his tweet Tamme referred to quarerback Peyton Manning not being in charge of ordering the pizza since he owns 21 Papa Johns franchises and is a part of a marketing campaign with them. Apparently our QB was not in charge of the post game snack. twitter.com/JacobTamme...

Phil Simms doesn’t believe Eli Manning is an elite quarterback

During an appearance on CBS Sports Network’s NFL Monday QB show, former Giants quarterback and CBS analyst Phil Simms said that he doesn’t believe Eli Manning is an elite quarterback. “No, he is not one of the elites,” Simms said in quotes distributed by CBS, via the New York Daily News. “Because when I hear the word elite, I’m thinking about guys that can make unbelievable...

Struggling Bengals to face Super Bowl champs

The New York Giants blew a fourth-quarter lead last week as their four-game winning streak came to an end. With a recent history of struggling through the second half of the season, they hope a matchup with the sliding Cincinnati Bengals proves to be just what they need. The Giants look to get back on track before their bye week as they try to extend the Bengals' losing streak...

NY Giants season may have just crashed

With the Giants loss to the Bengals yesterday, the blame game is a fun thing to do. I've seen a few mentions of Eli Manning not having zip on the ball. Whatever. I say that because it's a moot point. The Giants, under Tom Coughlin, perform just well enough in the regular season to stumble into the playoffs, and then somehow  win Super Bowls. It's just how this team works...

Broncos blow out Panthers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Denver Broncos coach John Fox had the right idea when he wanted to deflect attention upon returning to Bank of America Stadium to face his former employer. He brought along Peyton Manning and a stifling defense. In another efficient performance, Manning and the Broncos overwhelmed the Carolina Panthers in a 36-14 outcome Sunday afternoon. Fox, who was coach...

How the New York Giants Are in the Perfect Situation…Sort of

To say that the New York Giants played a bad game on Sunday would be an understatement.  Watching that game, many would think that this was the worst game the Giants have played in recent years. After watching that game, it was hard to tell if the team that was just on the TV was the Giants or if it was a misprint and everyone just watched the Jets. Despite the horrendous game and...
