Ten preliminary thoughts on the New York Jets week 14 match-up with the Kansas City Chiefs, which is once again…a do or die game. 1. Kansas City’s offense is bad…bad enough to make you appreciate the New York Jets offense. They have averaged 7, yes 7, points over the last 5 games and that includes a touchdown on a Hail Mary. Tyler Palko is about as good as a poor man’s Brooks Bollinger. This is the type of game where Rex Ryan needs to send the house early and often to force some turnovers. 2. Kansas City does have an ability to run the football a little bit. Jackie Battle and Dexter McCluster are having okay years. Former New York Jet Thomas Jones is struggling, averaging only 3 yards per carry. 3. Dwayne Bowe is their top target in the passing game but Darrelle Revis should be able handle to him. If there is any type of receiver who gives Revis problems, it is quick ones who run very precise routes. Bowe is far from that. 4. The Chiefs do have a very respect...

New York Jets: What Does More Moore Mean?

The talk of this week has been the decision of the New York Jets to keep offensive consultant Tom Moore with the team full time the rest of the season. Moore Consulting: Let’s Play This Out a Bit …

The Jets have not made it a secret that Tom Moore is part of the Jets staff this season as a consultant — but what’s the end game?  Moore has made it abundantly clear that he is there to “strictly observe” and has denounced negativity in all forms.  He doesn’t like being negative?  Well … there goes any shot of him becoming an OC in New York...

How Does One Define Priceless?

Answer:  So precious that its value cannot be determined. Question: What is Priceless? This could have been a quote from Alex Trebek on Jeopardy or it could have easily been uttered from anyone who attended the Monday night event at the Jets Atlantic Health Training Facility thanks to The New York Jets and MasterCard. Monday night I was fortunate enough to attend an event I will...

Week 14 Is When New York Jets Can Make Their Move

Picture this scenario for the New York Jets: at about 7 PM this Sunday night, they sit at 8-5 and in complete control of their own playoff destiny. If they win out, they will be in. No scoreboard watching. No worrying about another team giving them help. It isn’t that far fetched. The New York Jets host the Kansas City Chiefs at 1 PM, in a game that they should win. Considering...

Pennington on Sanchez: ‘He Understands How to Win’

Sanchez has been through a lot in his three years with the Jets, no one will argue that.  But what might be understated is just how battle-tested and ready the Brian Costello spoke with Chad Pennington about Mark Sanchez, looking for his impressions of whether or not Mark is the genuine article. For all of his stumbles on the field, Sanchez has shown remarkable maturity in the face...
