Found November 05, 2011 on Titans Locker:
The Tennessee Titans got back on the right track last weekend at home against the Colts, by winning 27-10.  The Titans are now 3-1 at home on the season.  The Bengals have won four games in a row now and they are 3-1 on the year on the road.  However, the combined record of the teams that the Bengals have beaten this year is 12-25 and they have only beaten one team (Buffalo) with a winning record.  Here is a look at the matchups in this game: When the Titans have the ball:  The Titans would love to get Chris Johnson or Javon Ringer going in this game, but it isn’t going to be easy.  The Bengals are only giving up 85.4 yards rushing per game and 3.3 yards per carry so far this year.  If the O-Line gives Matt Hasselbeck time to throw the ball (he has only been sacked 9 times this year), he is going to have success against a Bengals’ D that is giving up 212.0 yards passing per game (they only have 3 interceptions this year!).  Look for Hasselbeck to spread the ball around i...

CJ may sue over 'dreads on a stick'

Titans running back Chris Johnson is threatening a lawsuit against men using his hair to sell a product called "dreads on a stick."

Titans Can Cut Chris Johnson and not Pay Him $17 Million of $30 Mil Guarantee

This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry makes a reservation to rent a mid size car, but when he gets there they don’t have the car and he wonders what is the point of making the reservation for. Here is how the Titans can get out from under Johnson’s contract. Per a league source, several teams believe that the Titans could release running back Chris Johnson...

NFL Star Chris Johnson -- Threatens Lawsuit Over 'Dreads on a Stick'

Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson ain't just takin' on the Bengals this weekend -- he's also going after two guys allegedly trying to profit off the NFL star's dreadlocks without his permission. Johnson is furious ... after learning about a… Permalink

Titans Could Release RB Chris Johnson Before Fifth-Day Of 2012 League Year?

On September 1st, the Titans re-signed running back Chris Johnson to a six-year, $56 million deal, including $30 million guaranteed. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the Titans can avoid paying $17 million of it by cutting Johnson before March 2012. According to a league source, several teams believe that the Titans could release Johnson before the fifth day of the 2012...

Teams wonder whether Chris Johnson will be a free agent

As teams prepare their list of potential free agents in 2012, there’s a fairly big name that some currently are putting in the “maybe” category. Per a league source, several teams believe that the Titans could release running back Chris Johnson before the fifth day of the 2012 league year, at which time his base…

Titans could unload the rest of Chris Johnson’s contract after this season

There's no question that Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson has had a brutal 2011 season after holding out and finally getting the contract he wanted. It was a contract he deserved — $53 million over four years after leading the NFL in rushing over the last three years and gaining over 2,000 yards on the ground in 2009. This season, Johnson has just 2,8 yards per carry...

Titans could walk away from Johnson after first season of deal

After signing a new deal this offseason, Chris Johnson has looked nothing like the Titans' running back who torched the league the past three seasons. If he continues to decline, Johnson's contract allows the Titans to get out after the 2011 season.

Know Your Opponent — Titans

The Bengals are 2-0 against AFC South teams this season but have to go on the road to face a somewhat surprising 4-3 Titans squad which has a different look under first-year coach Mike Munchak. So what should we expect on Sunday? For that we ask The Tennessean’s Jim Wyatt (@jwyattsports) for the view from Nashville: Is there anyway to explain Chris Johnson’s struggles...

Freak Show Friday: Tap the keg starting at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT

Hornswoggled, bamboozled, cheated — these are feelings many investors of top-flight running backs have felt for weeks. Recent history says misery has had plenty of company. Since 2006, 46.7 percent of rushers failed to measure up to lofty expectations (RBs drafted in the top-12 that didn't finish inside the top-15 in per game scoring). Based on the woeful first half play of...

Around the AFC South - Week 8

The Texans are off to a great start in the division having beaten every team going 3-0 thus far. Almost half way through the season it seems as if the Colts are already eliminated from division contention, but the Titans and Jaguars still remain within striking distance. Let’s take a look at how the competition is fairing in this week’s edition of Around the AFC South. ...
