The Tennessee Titans announced today they agreed to terms with safety Aaron Francisco.Francisco spent 2011 out of the NFL after getting cut by the Lions at the end of training camp. He began his career with the Arizona Cardinals before spending two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. His most extensive action on regular defense came in 2010, when he started 12 games at strong safety for the Colts after both Bob Sanders (of course) and Melvin Bullitt went down with injuries. While Paul Kuharsky said Francisco did good work in 2010, my dominant impression of his play was that he looked like a third-string playerwho would have been a lot with his contributions almost totally limited to special teams play. That said, I noted a while back the Titans were looking for another safety to fill a specific role, and Francisco might be that guy. The Titans were also very, very young at safety between backups Robert Johnson (three active appearances in the NFL) and Markelle Martin (drafted this y...

Titans WR Kenny Britt arrested for DUI

Kenny Britt is a kid that probably won’t ever get it right. As the subject of today’s episode of Who Drove Drunk In The NFL, Britt has now been arrested eight times since joining the league. Regardless of his talent or game changing ability, I can’t even take Britt that seriously until he begins to at best keep himself out of the situations that will ruin his career. To read...

Top 5 storylines of Titans training camp

Coming off a 9-7 mark in head coach Mike Munchaks inaugural season, the Tennessee Titans have every reason to expect improvement in 2012 except for one key factor. The Titans face a murderous schedule, especially out of the gate when they face three teams that qualified for the playoffs in 2011 in their first four games and the other is on the road against one of the NFLs better...

Unfortunate yet unsurprising news for the Titans today, as troubled wide receiver Kenny Britt found himself in handcuffs yet again after being charged with DUI at a military installation early Friday morning. Britt reportedly was taking a female soldier back to Fort Campbell, an Army post on the border of Kentucky and Tennessee, when his vehicle was stopped at a gate outside of the...

More on Kendall Wright's potential role in the offense

I put off a discussion of Kendall Wright when I wrote about Greg Cosell's comments on the Titans' draft picks, but now it's time to talk about those comments with a focus on what Wright might mean to the Titans' offense.First, Kenny Britt's arrest inconveniently complicates matters. A passing offense with Britt, Wright, and Nate Washington looks and functions...
