Tennessee Titans star shares big criticism of 2024 NFL schedule
Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

While the Tennessee Titans are not being talked about much as a contender for the upcoming 2024 NFL season, they had a quality offseason that improved their chances greatly.

Last season, the Titans suffered through a disappointing year. However, they did see a lot to get excited about from young quarterback Will Levis. It doesn’t seem likely that they’ll be a contender this season, but they do have some great building blocks for the future.

Now that the 2024 NFL schedule has been released, players and fans are talking about how the league set things up. One Titans’ star is not happy with the league for the way they scheduled the team’s season.

Tennessee Titans Star Reveals Big Criticism Of 2024 NFL Schedule

Jeffery Simmons, the Tennessee Titans’ star defensive lineman, spoke out on X, formerly known as Twitter. He shared major disappointment and criticism for the team’s 2024 schedule.

No one can blame Simmons for being upset about the things he’s upset with. A Week 5 bye week is a very early bye that sets the team up for a grueling stretch run. That bye will mean that the Titans will play 13 straight weeks down the stretch of the regular season.

As for the one prime-time game, no one can blame the NFL for that. The Tennessee Titans don’t boast any major stars or big draws. They also weren’t a contender last season and they don’t appear to be one this year.

Bleacher Report has predicted that the Titans will go 5-12 this season. Other outlets believe that they could win anywhere between five to eight games. Those projected win totals simply aren’t going to force the NFL to give prime-time matchups.

That being said, there is reason for optimism for the Titans moving forward. Levis is expected to take another big step in his development and the team also went out and acquired star cornerback L’Jarius Sneed in the offseason. The front office is making the moves to get the franchise back into contention.

It will be interesting to see how the Tennessee Titans play this season. Will they surprise the NFL and be a winning team that deserved more attention? Or, will they struggle through another season of development and put themselves in a better position for the 2025 schedule?

We’ll have to wait and see, but hopefully Simmons and company can use this as motivation and a chip on their shoulders to produce a much bigger season than anyone is expecting from them.
