The NFL this year is keeping track of player participation information and releasing that information to the media on a weekly basis. Here's how the Titans officially lined up in the Week 17 home win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Offense (54 total) QB: Jake Locker 54 RB: Chris Johnson 39, Quinn Johnson 23, Collin Mooney 10, Darius Reynaud 4 TE: Taylor Thompson 53, Brandon Barden 23 WR: Kenny Britt 35, Nate Washington 31, Kendall Wright 30, Michael Preston 15, Lavelle Hawkins 6 OL: Kyle DeVan 54, Deuce Lutui 54, Michael Roos 54, Byron Stingily 54, Fernando Velasco 54, Mike Otto 1 Defense (74 total) DE: Kamerion Wimbley 60, Derrick Morgan 59, Jarius Wynn 19, Scott Solomon 11 DT: Sen'Derrick Marks 47, Jurrell Casey 45, Mike Martin 30, Karl Klug 27 LB: Akeem Ayers 73, Zach Brown 62, Tim Shaw 12, Will Witherpsoon 1 CB: Jason McCourty 74, Coty Sensabaugh 63, Tommie Campbell 52, Alterraun Verner 31 S: Al Afalava 74, Michael Griffin 74 Xavier Adibi, Jordan Babineaux, Patrick Bailey, Beau Brinkley, Mitch Petrus, and Tracy Wilson each only appeared on special teams. Jamie Harper and Matt Hasselbeck were active but did not appear in the game. Notes   1. In Week 17 games where teams have nothing to play for (draft position doesn't really count), you often see unusual playing time patterns because, well, why not? 2. The "are they going to play with tight ends" question was given an unquestionable "yes" answer, as Taylor Thompson played almost every snap and Brandon Barden got a moderate amount of playing time. 3. The Titans kept five receivers up, which is not something they've done an awful lot (I count five times). Lavelle Hawkins finished fifth in snaps, behind Michael Preston. I want to be a fly on the wall when Ruston Webster explains to Bud Adams why they re-signed Hawkins to the deal they gave him. 4. Mike Otto, 1 snap. My over/under would have been more like 10. 5. This was the first time since early in the season the Titans really played all four defensive tackles. Klug's 27 snaps was the most he played since the season-opener, when he was the third defensive tackle with Marks out and DaJohn Harris not valued. 6. Apparently Jerry Gray looked at Tim Shaw and Will Witherspoon and thought, why bother playing them? Akeem Ayers took over the Mike backer spot in the nickel defense, and the Titans spent the majority of the game in the nickel package. 7. In that nickel package? Jason McCourty with Coty Sensabaugh in the slot and Tommie Campbell outside, especially in the second half. I'll have to rewatch the game to see how they really did, especially against a low degree of difficulty opponent like Chad Henne and a Jaguars wide receiver group that's as injury-riddled as the Titans offensive line. 8. Al Afalava, 74 snaps. Jordan Babineaux, 0 snaps. What's the chance Babs is around to collect his $1.6 million base salary in 2013, 25%?
