Shocking news for the Tennessee Titans today, as police announced the apparent suicide of WR O.J. Murdock. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound outside of his old high school in Tampa, Fl.
Police say he was found around 8:30 Monday morning in his car at Middleton High School suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Tampa General in critical condition, and later died at 10:43am.
Murdoch had been excused from attending Titan's traning camp last week by head coach Mike Munchak, citing 'personal reasons'. He signed with Tennesse as an undrafted free agent in 2011, but never saw the field due to an achilles injury.
In an eerie coincidence, Murdock played with former Broncos WR Kenny McKinley while both were enrolled at South Carolina. McKinley committed suicide in 2010.
We'll keep you up to date when more details emerge.
