In a weird twist, it now appears as if beggars can be choosers. Terrell Owens, who is coming off of two knee surgeries, and an infamous stint with the UBL Allen Wranglers, has said publicly where he’d like to play football next season – and no, it isn’t playing center for the newly formed World Bikini Football League (although who wouldn't want that job).

Apparently, T.O. would like to return to the original scene of the crime, back to the Bay Area where his career began in 1996 with the San Francisco 49ers. However, with the 49ers free agent signings of Randy Moss and Mario Manningham, to go along with Michael Crabtree and rookie A.J. Jenkins, a roster spot opening up for T.O. with the Red and Gold seems highly unlikely at this point.

When asked by San Fran radio station, KMFZ, about the Niners recent acquisition of Randy Moss, Owens replied, “Would I have loved to have ended my career there, obviously signing a one- or two-year deal, absolutely. It is what it is at this point. I don't make those decisions and they were well aware I was out there so they felt they had the best man on their roster."

But Owens, is doubling down with his So Cal selections by also saying he would graciously accept a deal from the Oakland Raiders, if one were offered. “There's really only one team left in the Bay Area who I haven't played for that really at this point in time is a viable option and that's the Oakland Raiders," T.O. said. "Given the opportunity if that's on their radar for me to come in and help them win some ball games and ultimately help them try to win a championship then I'll take that challenge on. I definitely feel I have a lot of football left in me. I think Carson knows that."

Terrell Owens has been seen this off-season working out with former teammate, Carson Palmer – even being included in workouts with the Raiders’ current crop of wide-outs. Palmer was quoted giving T.O. some unusual praise when he said he thought Owens was a good influence on the younger receivers. “It was great for them, Palmer said. “It’s good to be around that. I think it was good for them to see that’s what it takes if you want to play for a long time and you want to be successful and have yards and catches and touchdowns and all that and that’s what it takes to work.”

Owens’ last season was in 2010, when then Cincinnati Bengals’ quarterback, Carson Palmer, connected with T.O. on 72 catches for 983 yards and 9 touchdowns in only 14 games. Oakland seems the most likely landing spot for the embattled receiver, but maybe even the Black Hole is too sane a place for the T.O. circus.

I have been a long time supporter of Terrell Owens and do ultimately hope he finds a job this NFL season. All the off-field stuff is just noise when it comes to the kind of steady production he has proven he can still provide. No one works harder than T.O. when he steps on the field, and I always felt that a lot of his coach and quarterback dust-ups came out of his desire to win rather than a selfish need for stats or whatever it may be. Rushing back from a broken ankle in mere weeks to catch 9 passes for 122 yards in the Super Bowl said all I needed to know about Terrell Owens the football player.

If Randy Moss can get a job after basically quitting on three different teams in the 2010 season, certainly a receiver who will go over the middle and will block and will do all the little things you want a wide receiver to do, certainly that person deserves a job – let’s just see if the fact that person’s name is Terrell Owens will have any impact on his current “black listed” status.

So I ask Football Nation, do you think Terrell Owens deserves another shot in the NFL, and if so, which team would be the best fit?
