Terrell Owens is still hoping to resume his NFL career, even though he hasn’t taken a meaningful snap in nearly two and a half years. Owens appeared on NFL AM on Wednesday morning to give an update on his free agent status. He told the crew he hasn’t received a call from a team since the Seahawks cut him last summer, but he’s still going to wait out the process. He said his best fit would be on the Vikings — because he knows wide receivers coach George Stewart — or the Chiefs — because he played under Andy Reid in Philadelphia. He said last week that if he doesn’t get picked up this season, he’ll retire. If he does get picked up, the 39-year-old wideout will be the second-oldest player in the league behind Adam Vinatieri, 40. Owens was drafted in the third round of the 1996 NFL draft. He has accumulated 15,934 yards on 1,078 receptions and 153 touchdowns. Owens ranks sixth all time in receptions, second in receiving yards and third in receiving touchdowns. Owens had a productive last season of his career in 2010 when he caught 72 passes for 983 yards and nine touchdowns.
