When news came out that Terrell Owens had left agent Drew Rosenhaus in favor of Jordan Woy, an agent based out of Dallas, I had a couple of thoughts. First, Drew Rosenhaus is probably thrilled that he doesn't have to represent Terrell Owens anymore. Rosenhaus can't exactly make a lot of money when his client isn't getting any job offers. Frankly, if I was Rosenhaus, I would throw Owens a going away/retirement party to celebrate the event.

My second, and admittedly more serious thought, is that the move does nothing to get Owens back on the field. The message Owens is trying to send is that he's not demanding big money or anything resembling big money. He just wants back on the football field with an NFL team. Unfortunately, teams aren't exactly interested in bringing him into their locker rooms.

It's hard to tell how many millions of dollars Owens' attitude and actions have cost him over the years. My gut feeling is that he has enough left in the tank to make a significant difference on a few teams around the league. Teams like the Rams, Jaguars, or the Dolphins are still in need of veteran wide receivers that can be more than just locker room mentors. My thought is that teams are reluctant to bring Owens on board because of the problems he's stirred up with almost every NFL team he's been with.

Owens' new agent will surely do his best to find Owens a position with an NFL team. Unfortunately for Owens, the agent was never the issue. The problem is with the player, and I'm not sure Owens has come to that realization quite yet.
