Initial reports of Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs’ injury concluded he tore his achilles during conditioning drills. However, sources now state that it happened playing basketball April 29th during a three-day tournament in Maricopa, AZ.
Basketball tournament staff member Herman Hoffman commented:
“He got hurt Sunday prior to the (basketball tournament) championship game…more than likely it was (the injury). My staff saw the whole incident. It was the condition you’d describe for a torn Achilles. He had no movement, no step, and it swelled up right away.”
Suggs responded to the allegations in a statement released by his agent, Joel Segal:
“Simply not true. I hurt myself doing my conditioning test.”
The Ravens have not commented about the situation, but it’s safe to say this news will be a hot topic when the team begins mini-camp this Wednesday.
