Terrell Thomas career as a New York Giant could be over!

After re-injuring his ACL during the first week of training camp, an MRI confirmed that Thomas did in fact suffer an injury to the same right knee that kept him out all of  last season.

According to Vice President of Medical Services Ronnie Barnes, Thomas will likely undergo an arthroscopic procedure to determine the extent of the injury to the ACL. Thomas will consult with Dr. Arthur Ting, who performed on Thomas ACL injury last season.  “No decision has been made at this point” according to Ronnie Barnes.

This would be awful news for Terrell Thomas and also to the New York Giants as well.

According to many experts regarding ACL injuries, many players generally don’t recover well enough from a second torn ACL due to the intense and grueling one year rehab. Unfortunately, Thomas might have to prepare himself for the worse possible news and If he’s torn it again, the prospect of a third rehab could be too much for the talented CB.

As for the impact on the team, Terrell Thomas will be missed if he is out again for the year.

Although the Giants are in better shape this season than they were last season to handle the loss of Thomas, with 2011 first-round pick Prince Amukamara entering his 2ndseason as the most likely replacement. The Giants also drafted cornerback Jayron Hosley in the third round of April’s draft, and have depth on the roster in the form of guys like Michael Coe, Justin Tryon and Antwaun Molden.
