Now that we know cornerback Terrell Thomas will be back with the New York Giants for 2013, he indicated today that he’s open to a position change if that’s what the Giants want. “At this point, I don’t care if they move me to kicker,” Thomas said, per ESPNNewYork.com. “I just want to play football.” According to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, the Giants expect Thomas to play cornerback right now. “Obviously my physical play translates into being a safety,” Thomas said. “I just got done talking to (general manager) Jerry (Reese), coach (Tom) Coughlin and coach (Perry) Fewell (the defensive coordinator) and all of them said, ‘We envision you coming back to play corner. If you can play corner, that’s great. But if not, maybe there’s a nickel safety role. Either way, we just want you on the field.’ Whatever my leg allows me to do, whatever the coach sees fit is better for the team, that’s what I’ll be doing. I’ll be ready, regardless.” I’m sure the Giants will move Thomas to safety if they feel like he’s lost the speed and burst that he used to have.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })();
