HOUSTON - The Texans' greater goal was accomplished on Sunday at Reliant Stadium, but those seeking a dominating performance on the heels of an embarrassing loss on national television were left wanting. The Texans claimed their second consecutive AFC South crown with their 29-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. However, their sluggish performance in the red zone and sporadic defensive effort did little to assuage concerns that the Texans aren't clicking on all cylinders. Defensive end J.J. Watt helped keep Colts rookie quarterback Andrew Luck in check with a monster game: 10 tackles, including six for lost yardage, three sacks and four quarterback hits. Luck needed 260 passing yards to set a rookie record in that category but finished with just 177. However, he did pass for two touchdowns. Andre Johnson had 11 catches for 151 yards and a score for the Texans (12-2), who managed just three field goals in the second half. Arian Foster rushed for 131 of his 165 ya...

Vote: Should Robert Griffin III, Andrew Luck or Russell Wilson Win NFL Rookie of the Year Award?

It was clear long before last April that the 2012 NFL Draft was going to center around two players. Those two players — quarterbacks, of course — were Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III. Both players were expected to be franchise-changing talents. Luck was the consensus choice for No. 1, but holding the second pick wasn’t expected to be too shabby, either, with Griffin waiting...

Indianapolis Colts lose to Texans 29-17, fall to 9-5

The biggest surprise in the Indianapolis Colts’ game against the Houston Texans on Sunday isn’t the fact that they lost. No, the biggest surprise has to be how close they were to almost making another miracle comeback in a season that has seen so many already. Trailing 20-3 after a Pat McAfee’s...
