Baker was taken in the 2012 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers in the 7th round (250th overall pick) out of Michigan State. He has spent time on the Chargers practice squad (2012) and most recently the Denver Broncos practice squad this season. At 5-8 and 215 lbs., Baker has yet to appear in a NFL game, and joins his former college teammate Keshawn Martin on the Texans. At Michigan State, he was a three-year letter winner finished his Spartan career with 2,293 rushing yards on 462 carries and rushed for 19 career touchdowns.
