The Texans head to Nashville to take on the titans today and if there was ever a game to make a statement with, this would be it. The Texans left Pittsburgh two weeks ago beat up. I'm pretty sure the pounding the Steelers administered on the Texans offense is illegal in several states. But the Texans might have caught a break with Hurricane Ike cancelling their week 2 game and segmenting what I consider to be one of the toughest opening season game stretches. Now instead of coming off of what would undoubtedly have been a very physical game vs. the?Ravens?and matching up against yet another stingy defense, the Texans have had a week off to collect themselves and rest up. But the question is will they be able to capitalize on the opportunity? Here's a look at what the Texans need to accomplish offensively and defensively in order to walk out of Nashville 1-1. Offense Matt Schaub cannot play quarterback like he's playing Madden (throwing wildly and hoping for a miracle). Tennessee's got a heck of a linebacker in Keith Bulluck and you can bet he'll be looking for any errant passes thrown his way. The entire offensive line has to improve for this to even be a game. Defense ?Defensively, the Texans need to bring more than Demeco and Mario Williams to the game. I'm pretty sure their defense missed the plane to Pittsburgh in week 1 which would explain a lot. In all seriousness though, Mario can get enough pressure on Kerry Collins for the rest of the defensive line to stay home and wait for the draw plays and sweeps. Linebacker Morlon Greenwood needs to be more heads up in supporting Mario if he's going to rush in like? acrazy man every play. This game's going to come down to who can run it better and the Texans look like they have their work cut out for them.
