Found September 10, 2012 on State of the Texans:
According to Houston Fox Sports’ Mark Berman, the Houston Texans extended the contracts of both Matt Schaub and Tim Jamison before Sunday’s game.  The deals were announced after the Texans win over the Miami Dolphins, with both of them being potential free agents for the 2013 season. The Texans gave their starting quarterback, Schaub, a 4 year deal worth $62 million dollars, $24.75 million of that contract is guaranteed. In order to extend Schaub, the Texans restructured Johnathan Joseph’s contract, freeing up $4 million by turning his salary into a signing bonus. Schaub’s career as the Texans’ starting quarterback has been an up and down one, especially with the injuries he just can’t avoid. As a starter, he is 33-32 with today’s win putting him over the .500 mark with the Texans. As for defensive end Tim Jamison, the Texans rewarded the undrafted free agent with a 2 year deal to keep him in Houston. His play in 2011 was solid and provided some of the best depth for the Texans on the defense. His ability to spell Antonio Smith and provide a solid pass rush has made Jamison one of the unsung players who make the Texans what they are today. At only 25, Jamison has plenty more to give to the NFL and the Texans, and bringing him back gives the Texans a solid defensive line rotation for the next two seasons. According to the Houston Chronicle, Jamison’s two year extension is worth $1.8 million including a raise in his base salary to $640,000 ($25k was added to his base salary) for the 2012 season and he received a $330,000 signing bonus.
