Found November 07, 2013 on NFL Injury Report:
According to Desmond Purnell of the NFL Network, Houston Texans’ running back Arian Foster missed practice yesterday as his recent back injury was being diagnosed. Here is the Twitter Feed: A. Foster was out of practice due to back and hamstring injuries. #nflnetwork — Desmond Purnell (@DesmondPurnell) November 6, 2013 The Texans have struggled mightily in 2013, and find themselves at 2-6 and facing the reality of not making the playoffs in a season that began with Super Bowl aspirations. The Texans are the worst in the NFL in turnover differential, with much of that lying at the feet of “pick six” Matt Schaub. The Texans have stated that Ben Tate will be ready to play on Sunday against Arizona despite having four cracked ribs, receiving pain numbing injections throughout the week and before the games. Foster has been excellent when on the field, averaging 4.5 yards per carry and being well on his way to another 1,000 yard season. He has been limited of late, though, and has battled three recurring injuries this season, dealing with calf, back, and hamstring issues since training camp. While six losses by the start of November is condemning, a seventh will effectively close the door on their immediate future. Texans’ defensive coordinator Wade Phillips will be the interim coach for the game, as head coach Gary Kubiak recovers from a mild stroke known as Transient Ischemic Attack, or TIA.
