The Houston Texans have reached a franchise best 4-2 record after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs at Reliant Stadium Sunday. Arguably the second best come back in franchise history, the Texans manufactured a spectacular fourth quarter comeback over the Chiefs’ stingy defense. The Texans offense was hampered by the Chiefs defense throughout the game, but the Texans’ offensive efforts proved through in the Texans 35-31 win.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ coaching staff was a major factor in the Chiefs almost full game lead. Head coach Tom Haley stayed patient, offensive head coordinator Charlie Weiss spread the ball and kept the defense honest, and defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel bottled the Texans’ offense for the majority of the game. However, it was Gary Kubiak’s decision to go for it on fourth down in the fourth quarter that proved to be the best coaching decision of the day.
