The loss of star MLB DeMeco Ryans to a season-ending Achilles tendon injury weakens a Texans defense that is struggling in multiple areas. Ryans, who has started every game in his NFL career, rarely comes off the field and is regarded as one of the game's better players at his position. He will likely be replaced by veteran Kevin Bentley, the way Pro Football Weekly hears it, with rookie Darryl Sharpton another option. WLB Zac Diles, who played in the middle in Week Six when Ryans went out, is likely to stay at his current position. Bentley's assets are experience (he's a nine-year veteran) and knowledge of the defense, Pro Football Weekly is told.
