The Houston Texans have placed quarterback Matt Schaub on season-ending injured reserve.Schaub has an injured right Linsfranc joint in his foot and will likely require surgery. He is expected to recover in time for the start of the 2012 season.The 30-year-old quarterback had a solid season prior to the injury, passing for 2,479 yards with 15 touchdowns and just six interceptions.Schaub's exit comes just as the Texans prepare to welcome wide receiver Andre Johnson back to the lineup. Johnson hasn't played since suffering a significant hamstring injury in Week 4.Matt Leinart will take over the starting quarterbacking duties for the Texans going forward.
