For Houston, the year of the “Next Man Up” is nevermore as the Texans lost 20-13 to the Baltimore Ravens in a hard fought divisional battle. Where I was Nostradamus: “Frankly, it's tough to bet on a fifth-round rookie quarterback, going into Baltimore in his first road playoff, against a Ray Lewis-led defense that boasts a bevy of Pro Bowlers, sprinkled with some future Hall of Famers, and leaving with a victory. In what very well could be Lewis’ last game in Baltimore, expect a relentless Ravens defense to force T.J. Yates and the Texans into some costly turnovers, en route to a solid victory.” It pains me to say but I nailed this one. While the Texans had a shot to win all game they came up short because of turnovers. Although the score was close, the Texans only led for a measly three minutes and were unable to regain the lead after Jacoby Jones’ boneheaded fumble. While Jones' muffed punt was a huge momentum killer, T.J. Yates&#...

Ray Lewis Loses With Class

This is one of the best post game conferences I have ever seen following such a devastating and disappointing loss.  Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens address the media in the locker room following the Ravens losing a heart breaker to The Patriots.  Ray kept it classy and addressed the media’s questions on Billy Cundiff and you couldn’t draw up a better answer from...

Billy Cundiff Says He Feels Bad for Ray Lewis After Missing Field Goal

You win as a team and you lose as a team. As expected, that was the message from the Ravens locker room after their devastating AFC Championship loss to the Patriots on Sunday. Billy Cundiff may have missed a chip shot field goal that would have sent the game to overtime, but Lee Evans also failed to secure a potential game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter. The Ravens...

Ravens LB Ray Lewis Says He's 'Absolutely' Not Retiring

Following the loss to the New England Patriots, Ravens LB Ray Lewis told reporters that he’s "absolutely" not retiring and will return for the 2012 season, per Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun. Lewis has continued to play at a high level despite being 36. Baltimore may still look to add depth at the position during the draft but it certainly won’t be as pressing of an...

AFC Championship Preview and Prediction: Ravens at Patriots

Ray Lewis won his first Super Bowl and only Super Bowl 11 years ago. The Ravens won their Super Bowl with one of the most dominant defenses of all-time. That 2000 Ravens squad is 1A with the 85 Bears. They hold the record for fewest points allowed in the regular season, and did not allow a 100 yard rusher. The Ravens would defeat the New York Giants, who had one of the better...

NFL's Top Five Most Underrated Inside Linebackers

The average NFL fan is aware of some of the best players in the league, such as Ray Lewis, Tom Brady, and Adrian Peterson. Not all, but some of these better players were greatly successful for only a few years. Injuries, age, and personal setbacks derail the careers of some of football's finest icons. Nevertheless, many of them remain atop the fan pyramid, if only because of...

AFC preview: Ray Lewis, Ed Reed chase Super Bowl together for Ravens

Reed and Lewis grew up living parallel lives — with hardscrabble childhoods, in stellar careers at the University of Miami, as late first-round draft selections by the Ravens — before uniting in Baltimore in 2002, cornerstones of a snarling defense.

First Quarter: Ravens 0, Patriots 0
