I am not one to read to much into what a coach says, as far as game plans are concerned, during the week, but it is hard to ignore these comments from the Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.
āWe (will) double cover him every play. Thatās our plan. Weāre going to double cover him every playā
While it seems odd that Phillips would disclose his approach against an elite receiver, this isnāt exactly a revolutionary idea. This does, however, limit my optimism on Brandon Marshall this week. Double coverage is tough to beat, and with a sometimes erratic QB in Jay Cutler, Marshall owners could be in for a long night. The Texans front line is strong, and if they can apply pressure early, Marshall wonāt have time to find breathing room against a double team.
If they do in fact double team him, it is hard to project Marshall as a WR1 this week. Youāre probably not benching him, but Iād think twice before starting Cutler as a top 15 QB this week. I know that is difficult after a big per...

The Cowboys will stop underachieving once they fire Wade Phillipsā¦oh wait⦠they did that 2 years ago. In an interview shown before Sunday Night Football, Owner/GM Jerry Jones said that if the GM were anyone other than him, he as Owner would have fired him by now. Let Jay Play
No one needs a reminder of how poor the quarterback position in Chicago has been before the arrival of Jay Cutler. Any primetime game that has featured the Bears that I can recall in the last decade has shown the graphic. We all know the graphic. The long list of quarterbacks that Bears have ran
Chicago Bears: Week 10 NFL Power Rankings (#1)
Last week: 3 (+2)
Record: 7-1
Back to this. I really broke my own rule by overreacting to the Bearsā near lose to the lowly Panthers and dropping them down even though Iāve never been sold on Atlanta. The Bearsā huge blowout win helped me see the light. Jay Cutler is now 12-1 in his last 13 games, which would be 12 in a row if you exclude their Thursday Night loss in Green...

Houston Texans at Chicago Bears: Week 10 NFL Pick
Houston Texans (7-1) at Chicago Bears (7-1)
Iāve called Chicago the best team in the NFL on several occasions. Itās close, but they are the team Iād least want to play right now. Atlanta may be undefeated, but theyāve had a very easy schedule and arenāt blowing guys out like the Bears are, winning 5 of 8 by a touchdown or less, including games that should have been blowouts...
