The Houston Texans waived three players on Sunday, including cornerback Fred Bennett. Bennett had a team-high three interceptions as a rookie, but his level of play tailed off the last two seasons. As a result, Bennett was behind 2010 first-round pick Kareem Jackson, 2009 picks Glover Quin and Brice McCain, and 2008 third-round pick Antwaun Molden on the depth chart, and his $1.101 million salary was made him expendable. By releasing him now, the Texans are giving Bennett an opportunity to latch on elsewhere. Wide receiver London Crawford and defensive end Pannel Egboh were also waived.
