PLAYERS: J.J. Watt
TEAMS: Houston Texans
NFL Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt knows he needs to get in his offseason training even as he takes advantage of the opportunities that come with his success. The Houston Texans end figures he's been on a plane 20-25 times already this offseason, compared with eight or nine flights at this point last year. He said Thursday: ''All the cool stuff I'm doing is great. All that will go away if I don't play well.'' The one trip he absolutely wanted to make was to join an NFL USO trip to visit American troops in the Middle East. Watt led the NFL with 20 1/2 sacks and blocked 16 passes in his second season to earn 49 of 50 votes for defensive player honors.

JJ Watt to throw out first pitch for Astros

Well now this is just savvy marketing. The Houston Astros, as you know, are not so good. They have lost 213 game over the last two years and haven't had a winning season since George W. Bush was a president and not an artist. Average attendance last season dropped below 20,000 for the first time since 1995, which you'll remember as the year baseball fans, still angry about...

The Houston Astros are not looking the greatest for this coming season. The sad thing is that they've been pretty bad of late so fans have another season of ineptitude ahead of them.
