According to ProFootballWeekly.com, even though contract talks with linebacker Connor Barwin, the Houston Texans are determined to have him around in 2013, even if that means placing the franchise tag on him. Barwin is a big time player for the Texans, especially after letting Mario Williams walk in free agency this past offseason.  He racked up 11.5 sacks to go along with 47 tackles in 2011.

Tate, Foster powering Texans' run game

HOUSTON (AP) -- Ben Tate was in a position any rookie would envy. Drafted by the Houston Texans in the second round in 2010 after a stellar senior season at Auburn, the running back was competing for a starting job. But almost as quickly as his opportunity came, it was over when a broken right ankle in the first preseason game ended his rookie campaign. Arian Foster emerged to lead...

Cardinals, Falcons, Texans Remain Only Unbeaten Teams, Highlights Parity in NFL

The 1972 Dolphins might as well break out their champagne glasses early, no one's going undefeated this year. Perhaps you could have seen the Texans as one of the final three unbeaten teams in the NFL, but Arizona and Atlanta? Not unless you're a Falcons or Cardinals homer. The Texans have got the job done so far playing an awful schedule. The Broncos were their biggest test...

Houston Texans Look Great In The Mile High City - The Houston Texans might just be the best team in the NFL. They sure looked like it on Sunday in Denver. Few teams in the NFL have the kind of balanced offense that the...

Texans' Schaub loses a piece of his ear from hits

Manning will still challenge Texans defense

HOUSTON Wade Phillips took a preemptive strike at the "Peyton Manning is finished" angle Thursday. "I know it's going to be asked so I'm going to go ahead and make my statement," the Houston Texans defensive coordinator said. "Peyton Manning looks like the same guy he's always been." No sense poking the bear, even if it does have a neck...

Schaub outplays Manning, Texans top Broncos 31-25

For Peyton Manning's detractors, there are no interceptions to analyze this time, no one or two ill-conceived throws to pick apart. There is, however, another loss to dissect, along with the makings of a pattern the Broncos certainly don't want to prolong: Start slow, finish fast, talk about what might have been. The latest defeat came Sunday at the hands of Houston quarterback...

Schaub says he lost part of ear after big hit

If the Houston Texans and the Denver Broncos were considered a battle of heavyweights on Sunday, then the Broncos would be Mike Tyson and the Texans, well, Evander Holyfield. Early in the third quarter, Texans quarterback Matt Schaub was hit by Broncos linebacker Joe Mays, who viciously took him down. The hit was so hard that Schaub's helmet was ripped from his head ... along...
