Jamaal Charles had the game of his life as he carried the Chiefs to a come-from-behind win over the woeful New Orleans Saints.  Charles had 33 carries for 233 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown.  He also added 6 catches for 55 yards.  For any fantasy owner that stuck with him after his 22 total yard performance last week, which in most leagues equals 2.2 points, they were handsomely rewarded with 288 total yards and a touchdown.  In most leagues that equals 34.8 points. The Chiefs are now at 1-2 which puts them in a three way tie for second place in the dreadful AFC West.  The San Diego Chargers faced their first good opponent of the year and lost to the Atlanta Falcons by 21 at home.  Just as I said after week 1, the Atlanta Falcons’ loss was not a bad one.  Next week the San Diego Chargers come to Arrowhead as the battle for mediocrity will continue.  If the Chiefs win they will have a share of the AFC West lead.  This is a must win for the Chiefs because the following week the Baltimore Ravens will be coming to Kansas City. If Jamaal Charles is really back to his former 2010 self then expect most teams to load the box.  This isn’t a bad thing though because it means fewer defenders in coverage for Matt Cassel to read.  The Chargers were trounced last week on the ground and through the air so this is a good opportunity for the Chiefs.  Because of the lack of competition in the AFC West, the Chiefs have to win these early season games against the Raiders and Chargers.  The Broncos will improve on a weekly basis as the Broncos receivers become more comfortable with Peyton Manning.  Any lead the Chiefs can build early in the season will help in the long run.
