Found March 12, 2012 on The Colts Authority:
The Colts have purged their roster of some of the all time greats, with more farewells in the works. This is the first of a recurring series saying farewell to Colts greats. Portions of this essay originally appeared in Blue Blue: Tales of Glory of the Indianapolis Colts. Drafted out of Iowa in the first round in 2003, Dallas Clark was going to be hard pressed to be as beloved by fans as Ken Dilger was during his time with the Colts. It did not take him long to become even more beloved. From the start, Clark showed unique abilities that made him one of the most dangerous pass catchers in football. Clark's 'hybrid' skills create matchup nightmares for defenses. Too big to be covered by corners and too fast for linebackers, Dallas Clark has allowed Peyton Manning to switch freely from a two tight end alignment to a three wideout alignment all while keeping the same players on the field.   Many forget that it was the injury to Dallas Clark late in his rookie year ...

Phil B remembers Gary Brackett

One of the biggest losses to come during the Great Purge is that of captain Gary Brackett, a Classic Colt of the truest definition. Phillip B. Wilson recalls Brackett's workmanlike approach to the game through the story of Brackett's miraculous, nearly season changing forced fumble against Jermome Bettis and the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2006: After the game, I asked Brackett...

Report: If Manning's in, Tebow's gone

According to a report, Tim Tebow would be placed on the trading block if the Broncos end up signing Peyton Manning.

Dennis Polian leaves for Titans

There are no longer any members of the Polian family working for the Indianapolis Colts. A source told that Dennis Polian is now the new assistant to Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak. The Colts had initially planned to keep Dennis Polian as their director of football administration even after the January firing of his father Bill (team president) and brother...

Colts cap situation

General Manager Ryan Grigson didn't want to talk about it. Jim Irsay officially called it "cap hell" at one point over the last week. One increasingly inaccurate source said on Twitter the Colts had an unbelievable amount of cap space with which to work.  Either way, it turns out that the Colts are quite tight on cap space and will need more help to pursue any kind...

Indianapolis Colts Continue Cleaning House

It was bad enough for fans when the team dumped Peyton Manning on Wednesday, but after the moves that were made Friday they may not even recognize the line-up come opening day in 2012. The Colts released a number of the most recognizable veterans that the team had on Friday namely linebacker Gary Brackett, safety Melvin Bullitt, running back Joseph Addai, tight end Dallas Clark,...

Manning arrives at Cards headquarters

Peyton Manning has arrived at the Arizona Cardinals facility. The free-agent quarterback showed up Sunday morning with Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt, stepped out of a white SUV and nodded and waved to cameramen as he walked past a security gate and into a building. A few minutes earlier, Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald arrived in his own car. This is the second stop on Manning...

Meaning, after spending six plus hours with the Arizona Cardinals, Manning contacted Denver upon landing. This likely signals...

Dwight Freeney's On the Trade Block, And the Bears are Interested

Indianapolis' spring cleaning - er, make that wholesale renovation - has already removed a few high-profile names from the roster, and they're looking to move another in defensive end Dwight Freeney. And according to Len Pasquarelli, the Bears are very interested. A trade for the Colts' all-time leader in sacks might cost quite a bit in both trade pieces and finances...
