Thanksgiving is not complete without a Dallas Cowboys game, and that tradition will continue as they welcome the Redskins to Dallas. Neither team is playing great football, but both are still technically in the playoff race. Washington needs a win just as much as Dallas does, with both teams still clinging to playoff hopes, so this game will certainly be competitive throughout. Robert Griffin and the Redskins are looking to get right into the think of the NFC East race with a Thanksgiving Day victory over the Cowboys. (Image credit: Ronald Martinez/Getty Images via B/R) Washington Redskins The Redskins are currently 4-6 and two games behind the Giants in the NFC East. They have a shot to make the playoffs, but this game against Dallas is a must-win. Last week saw the Redskins end their three-game losing streak with a win over the Eagles. RGIII was nearly perfect as he went 14/15 for 200 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 84 yards, which led the team. More games like this are needed by RGIII for the Redskins to try and make a playoff run, and he is certainly capable of doing so. The defense will have to get pressure to Tony Romo, who had a rough game last week against the Browns, a game in which he was sacked seven times. He has thirteen interceptions on the year and is prone to making poor decisions. Taking advantage of this will only help out the Redskins defense, who has a tough time holding opponents to under twenty points in a game. Dallas Cowboys The Cowboys saved a total collapse last week by coming back to beat the Browns in overtime. It was a game in which they trailed 13-0 at half, but they scored 17 fourth-quarter points to force overtime, where they won with a field goal. The Browns handed this game to the Cowboys, which got Dallas to .500 at 5-5. It was their second straight win, after a win over the Eagles a week prior. As mentioned above, sacks were a huge problem for Dallas last week. Seven sacks in unacceptable for an NFL offensive line, especially when the team in under a microscope as it is in Dallas. If Romo is to falter and throw any interceptions in this game, the Dallas defense will be in for a long day against RGIII and the offense of the Redskins. Redskins-Cowboys Prediction Both teams need a win in this game, but a loss for the Redskins effectively ends their playoff hopes. That extra motivation, and RGIII, will help them defeat the faltering Cowboys in Dallas.
