Last NFL season I began writing my “Jay Cutler Dominates” column. Of all my three years on MSF it’s been the column I’ve most enjoyed writing. I like making people laugh, and one of my favorite means of doing that is through satire. Satire is a lot of fun because, if done right, you can get people to not even realize they’re being duped. I love that. When I was writing the “Jay Cutler Dominates” columns, I tried to make them as outlandish as possible; but some people, no matter how ridiculous the column, took it on its face value. I can’t really blame them, though. There’s a lot of idiocracy in sports writing, so a blogger declaring that Cutler is better than Aaron Rodgers isn’t all that outlandish, I guess. These people who take the “Jay Cutler Dominates” columns seriously leave some of the funniest comments, so I’d like to share with you my favorites. 1.) Gayjay I can just picture the person’s face after they realized gay rhymed with Jay – thus creating, in their mind, the perfect insult. And, for the record, I am actually proud of our “mangina” at the helm of our franchise. 2.) It’s all Jerod’s Fault I love this comment because the person seems to have figured out the column is supposed to be a joke, but then they go and insult “Jared” for allowing such an “idiot” to write and publish this column. The misspelling of Jerod’s name is also an added bonus. [Editor's note: Umm, Tyler, upon further review of this column by Jake, you and I need to talk...] 3.) Facts Once I get an idea for a “Jay Cutler Dominates” column, the writing comes pretty easily. It doesn’t take up much time to completely make stuff up. It does, however, take a decent amount of time to fact-check stats, so I can’t help but laugh when seeing commenters writing long, fact-filled comments to counter my complete and utter ******** that takes me 30 seconds to write. 4.) Dog Sh&@ I seem to have angered this gentleman so much he decided to tell he’s rather eat a pile of “dog sh&@” to get the two minutes he lost back. A ridiculous, but very funny statement. 5.) I’m an Idiot No. ***** The post The 5 Best Comments Ever Posted on the “Jay Cutler Dominates” Column appeared first on Midwest Sports Fans.
