Found January 18, 2012 on The Jets Blog:
With the Jets now looking towards 2012, so are we.  As we think about the needs the Jets have to fill before getting to training camp, we wanted to hear your thoughts on the most critical positions that the team needs to address with potential starters this offseason.  Of course this list will fluctuate as the team cuts, extends or signs players, so we’ll try and update it regularly.  For now, here’s the first shot. 1 Safety — Not one, but two spots, thus the high ranking.  The Jets need safeties who have the size and can cover, but who also can play up in the box. 2 Offensive Line — Wayne Hunter is an issue, and after Tony Sparano looks at the tape, he’s going to know the team can’t keep him as a Tackle.  Vlad Ducasse will be considered a lost cause if he can’t make a push this offseason, and Slauson could be upgraded if the right player comes along, while Moore is reaching the end of his career. 3 Wide Receiver — The Jets seem to be stuck with making it work with Santonio Holmes ...

(Very) Preliminary Thoughts On New York Jets Off-Season

At this point of the NFL season, it is still very hard to project exactly what type of direction the eliminated New York Jets will go in during the off-season. There are too many variables at play. In terms of players, it is easy to throw around names off of free agency lists and throw darts at the board to come up with draft picks but it will take a little more time for real options...

BGA: 2012 Salary Cap Update 1.0

Over the course of the offseason, I’ll be posting a series of articles analyzing statistics and data rather than game film. I’ll also be revisiting last year’s offseason articles to see whether the conclusions drawn were indicative of what was actually going to happen during the season and using that information to try and determine what 2011’s data tells us about what might...

Self-Scouting: Unrestricted Free Agents

While free agency won’t begin until the end of February, we wanted to take some time to look at the Jets free agent lists, and write up some initial thoughts about their future status with the Jets.  Lastly, the Unrestricted Free Agents. Bryan Thomas — Rex Ryan loves Bryan Thomas, mostly because of Thomas’s versatility.  Thomas might not be an OLB playmaker like a Terrell...

Jets Still Grounded in Dysfunction Junction

There isn't much you can credit the Jets with achieving this season, but give them credit for finding a way to remain in the headlines even while the Giants are on the doorstep of the Super Bowl. Those headlines might not be positive and they might make you wish everyone associated with the Jets was struck with a case of spontaneous paralysis of the vocal cords, but they say...
