Found November 27, 2012 on NFL Draft Zone:
Doug Martin has been the fantasy guru pick in most leagues over the past few weeks, but yesterday Martin came up short. Doug Martin rushed 21 times for 50 yards and two touchdowns and added a pair of receptions for 13 yards versus the Falcons in Week 12. Martin entered the game as just the sixth rookie in history with 1,000 rushing yards in his first 10 games. Selling out to stop the run, the Falcons were willing to leave themselves vulnerable down the field in order to stuff Martin. The hard-luck rookie lost an impressive 42-yard catch-and-run to an offensive line penalty, but also benefited from a pair of short-yardage touchdowns. Martin is neck-and-neck with Arian Foster as fantasy’s No. 1 back entering Week 13 at Denver.

Falcons' Robinson plays on the edge

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. Falcons head coach Mike Smith presented right cornerback Dunta Robinson with the teams defensive game ball for his performance in Sundays 24-23 win over Tampa Bay. Robinson ranked second on the team in tackles with six, had one of the units two sacks, registered two tackles-for-loss and added a quarterback hurry. Earlier this season Robinson had said that he...

Falcons have chance to make up for loss to Saints

Some Atlanta players seem uncertain about who gave the Falcons' their lone loss of the season. Did the Saints beat Atlanta, or did the Falcons beat themselves in their 31-27 loss at New Orleans on Nov. 11? Receiver Roddy White was dismissive of the Saints after the game when he said, ''It's not like they came out here and won a game.'' Quarterback Matt...

Smith wants Falcons to clean up inconsistencies

Leading the NFC with a 10-1 record isn't nearly enough to satisfy Atlanta Falcons coach Mike Smith. His team is playing too many close games and still making too many mistakes for Smith to say that Atlanta is one of the NFL's few elite teams. He will only say that if the Falcons keep winning, they will put themselves in position to earn a top playoff seed. With just three...

Falcons Cage 'Muscle Hamster' And Improve to 10-1

The Falcons (10-1) are one step closer to the playoffs and the NFC South title after winning yet another close game.  This one was against the rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-5) on Sunday.  The Falcons again struggled on offense running the ball in this match-up.  Michael Turner yet again was held to under 20 yards on more than 10 carries.  This makes three straight game for Turner...

Saints Nation: Fan Predictions for Falcons Game (Part II)

It was only a matter time before Marijn got lucky and everyone else would be wrong in their predictions and he'd sneak out a victory. Ellmanov tied him with only one correct answer so it came down to the tiebreaker bonus question... which Marijn won by virtue of having the lowest yardage total. Vernon Davis had 0 yards, go figure. Well, with a new week comes a new game and with...

While the two teams are on opposite sides of the playoff race this one figures to be a lot closer then the teams individual records. The Saints have been vastly improved since the return of interim coach Joe Vitt but they...

A Running Back Committee? A Novel Idea.

We've called for more Jacquizz for a while and last week our calls were answered. As the Falcons get deeper into the season, the brass is realizing more and more that Michael Turner is not a great fit for the offense Dirk Koetter is running and that he's getting up there in "football" years and Michael Cunningham covered it today in DOL's blog. If...

Falcons look to end skid in series against Saints

On the verge of clinching their division before December, the Atlanta Falcons don't look so dominant when their longest, most intense rival is on the field with them. The New Orleans Saints have won four straight and 11 of 13 in the series, including a 31-27 home win over Atlanta on Nov. 11. It remains the only loss for the Falcons (10-1), who otherwise have dominated the NFC...

League-leading Falcons, Texans struggle for respect

10-1. Both the Atlanta Falcons and Houston Texans share this league-leading record but as players on both teams will tell you, nobody in the media seems to be interested in these two teams’ success. So why has respect been so hard for the Falcons and Texans to come by? Well as a long time Falcons fan I can probably answer why they get so little respect a little quicker. CLICK HERE...
