The Bucs have had a plan all along. Everyone has been trying to figure what exactly they are up to, not signing any help for their secondary. But it seems like they are working how they work, quietly. Free agent cornerback Brent Grimes has drawn interest from a couple teams during free agency. It was reported erroneously last week that he had re-signed with the Falcons. Now it appears he has been talking with the Bucs as Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk writes. The Plan B remains Falcons cornerback Brent Grimes, who has drawn interest from the Dolphins and the Browns.  The Bucs and Grimes are, we’re told, talking — and if/when the Buccaneers land the Falcons’ 2012 franchise player, the Bucs will be out of the Revis business. One thing to note here is why, from Grimes’ position, would he be waiting on signing with a team? Wouldn’t that kind of stance lower his value? Could he be waiting to see if the Bucs acquire Darrelle Revis? Perhaps Tampa Bay is trying to pair both of them in their secondary? OK I may be pushing it there. Still, you have to ask these questions and it appears the Bucs may have some tricks up their sleeves they are not sharing. After all, there have been some whispers on the Bucs trying to do something big. Maybe this is it. The post The Bucs and Brent Grimes are talking appeared first on The Bay Cave.

Did the Cleveland Browns do the right thing letting Brent grimes walk out of Cleveland?

The Cleveland Browns hosted former all pro corner-back Brent Grimes walk out of Cleveland? Grimes is coming back from a serious injury to his leg. Chances are he is a little rusty and the Browns can’t afford to take a chance on a corner that may not be back to 100%. Grimes had other teams showing interest in him and the Falcons could also be waiting to see if they can resign him...

Falcons' defense still needs a lot of attention

ATLANTA The Atlanta Falcons have been proficient at re-signing offensive players. Meanwhile, the defense continues to sport gaping holes, some of which keep getting bigger. On March 1, the Falcons cut three high-profile defenders, including right cornerback Dunta Robinson (91.1 percent of the snaps second most on the unit last year) and right defensive end John Abraham, who played...

Bucs re-sign Jacob Cutrera and Andrew Economos

The Buccaneers announced today the re-signings of two key pieces of their special teams: line specialist Andrew Economos and linebacker Jacob Cutrera.  Here is the information from the Buccaneers’ press release: Economos, a special teams captain in 2010 and 2012, has played in 92 games with the Buccaneers, recording 20 special teams tackles and one forced fumble. In 2012, Economos...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Biggest Draft Day Regret In Franchise History

Winning the award for worst mistake in draft day history for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is quarterback Vinny Testaverde. After Tampa Bay quarterback Steve Young finished the 1986 NFL season with a record of 2-12, eight touchdowns and 13 interceptions, the Buccaneers deemed Young a bust and traded him to the San Francisco 49ers for two draft picks. The Buccaneers then went on to use...

Bucs players can’t talk with Darrelle Revis

The Buccaneers appear to be inching closer to a deal with the New York Jets for cornerback Darrelle Revis. Some reports already have the Bucs penciled in as having a deal in place to offer Revis which seems logical. Many have even suggested that Revis is aware of this said deal. However, with the league’s anti-tampering rules, it can not be the Bucs front office that reaches out...

Bucs have “patience” for a Darrelle Revis trade

The national media has weighed in on the Jets potential trade of Darrelle Revis to the Buccaneers. While reports have said anything from it happening this week to not happening until this summer, none have labeled their cornerback situation better than NFL Network’s Charles Davis.  Appearing on 98.7 The Fan Wednesday morning with Justin “The Commish” Pawlowski, Davis was asked...

Bucs early free agency moves a mixed bag

TAMPA, Fla. One week has passed, and gifts have been granted. If free agency is like the NFLs Christmas, then the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should have mixed feelings about what left and landed in their facility. The good: The Bucs inked a marquee secondary signing. Dashon Goldson is a proven pro who offers a needed boost at safety. Hes agile at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, and at 28 years...

Atlanta Falcons: Biggest Draft Day Regret In Franchise History

Atlanta may be one of the better teams in the NFL right now, but that certainly has not always been the case. In fact, more often than not, the Falcons have spent the end of the season wallowing in the lower half of the NFL standings. There can be a number of reasons for this lack of success, but bad drafting definitely ranks at the top, and the Falcons have had their fair sure...

Bucs considering first round pick for Darrelle Revis

It appears the Bucs may be upping the ante on possible trade offers to the New York Jets. The speculation of the Buccaneers offering a second and a fourth round pick or a second this year and a potential first next season may no longer be an option.   To be clear, Bucs won’t rule out using a first round pick for Revis. No offer made, undecided at this point. Would consider it...

Bucs have shown interest in Captain Munnerlyn

While the Bucs have been somewhat quiet in free agency thus far, it doesn’t mean they are not out there looking for players. And since they have been quiet through the media, fans have grown restless and have done their own investigating.   @bucsrmylife yes — Captain Munnerlyn (@captain_41) March 17, 2013   This information was brought to my attention Sunday and early Monday...

Fantasy Football 2013: Projecting Steven Jackson's Value with the Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons may have just added the last piece of the puzzle in their quest to create a truly dynamic and complete offense as they agreed to terms with former Rams running back Steven Jackson on a three-year deal worth $12 million. Jackson turned down $7 million this season alone to play for the Rams, but did so in order to join a contending team in hopes of playing in the Super...
