PLAYERS: Brent Grimes
TEAMS: Atlanta Falcons

The Bucs have had a plan all along. Everyone has been trying to figure what exactly they are up to, not signing any help for their secondary. But it seems like they are working how they work, quietly. Free agent cornerback Brent Grimes has drawn interest from a couple teams during free agency. It was reported erroneously last week that he had re-signed with the Falcons. Now it appears he has been talking with the Bucs as Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk writes. The Plan B remains Falcons cornerback Brent Grimes, who has drawn interest from the Dolphins and the Browns. The Bucs and Grimes are, we’re told, talking — and if/when the Buccaneers land the Falcons’ 2012 franchise player, the Bucs will be out of the Revis business. One thing to note here is why, from Grimes’ position, would he be waiting on signing with a team? Wouldn’t that kind of stance lower his value? Could he be waiting to see if the Bucs acquire Darrelle Revis? Perhaps Tampa Bay is trying to pair both of them in their secondary? OK I may be pushing it there. Still, you have to ask these questions and it appears the Bucs may have some tricks up their sleeves they are not sharing. After all, there have been some whispers on the Bucs trying to do something big. Maybe this is it. (This article also appears on TheBayCave.com. Falcons' defense still needs a lot of attention

ATLANTA The Atlanta Falcons have been proficient at re-signing offensive players. Meanwhile, the defense continues to sport gaping holes, some of which keep getting bigger. Atlanta Falcons: Biggest Draft Day Regret In Franchise History

Atlanta may be one of the better teams in the NFL right now, but that certainly has not always been the case. In fact, more often than not, the Falcons have spent the end of the season wallowing in the lower half of the NFL standings. There can be a number of reasons for this lack of success, but bad drafting definitely ranks at the top, and the Falcons have had their fair sure...
