The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted a lightning bolt when they selected Chris Rainey in the 5th of the 2012 NFL draft. Harnessing that lightning will be an arduous task, but one that will also breed excitement throughout Steeler Nation. Steelers All Pro Center Maurkice Pouncey is fully healed from ankle surgery this offseason. Pouncey struggled with the injuries to his ankle over the last two seasons. Alameda Ta’amu appears to be the heir apparent to the NT position for the Steelers. He will learn under Casey Hampton and John Mitchell on how to play the position this season. He could even end up starting if he learns fast enough and Hampton is unable to recover from knee surgery. Hampton will do a good job of helping Ta’amu become the future at the position.
